Terranova's first watch brings one of the most iconic places in Brazil to the dial of the Copacabana Watch
In recent years we have witnessed the emergence of independent watch brands with creative and sometimes bold approaches in terms of concepts, design, and materials for their creations. These independent brands are known as Micro Brands and currently boast a legion of fans worldwide who seek something different from what traditional brands offer.
Terranova is an independent watch brand whose main purpose is to create timepieces inspired by Brazil. For its first watch the brand chose to honor Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro which is undoubtedly one of Brazil's most internationally recognized locations. The famous waves of the Copacabana's promenade are depicted on the watch dial in forms of various textures that become more or less visible depending on the dial's illumination.

Located in the southern zone of Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana Beach and its namesake neighborhood symbolize Brazilian identity. Copacabana is arguably Brazil's most famous beach globally with a wide range of references in pop culture spanning music, photography, cinema, television, literature, and more. If there was one missing there isn't anymore.
Throughout its history Copacabana has seen all sorts of people, from Hollywood stars to rock legends, street vendors, children, the elderly, rich, poor, or simply someone out for their Sunday morning run. Dimensions
With a case diameter of 39mm, thickness of 12.3mm, and lug to lug length of 47.5mm, the Terranova Copacabana fits comfortably on virtually all male wrists and can also be worn by women with larger wrists who appreciate watches that make a statement. The 20mm strap width tapers to 16mm at the clasp providing a light appearance and allowing for a multitude of strap combinations.

Materials and finishes
The Terranova Copacabana is entirely crafted from 316L stainless steel featuring polished sides on the case, a brushed top case, and a polished stainless steel bezel ring. The crystal is a flat sapphire with a transparent anti-reflective coating that offers an excellent visibility.
The Jubilee bracelet that accompanies the watch is also made of 316L stainless steel with solid links throughout. It's a functional and classic component that retains a sporty feel. The bracelet combines polished central links with brushed external links offering the watch a balanced and elegant aesthetic. The sides of the bracelet are polished in the traditional Jubilee style.
The brushed steel clasp is well-finished with polished edges complementing the polished and brushed pattern of the bracelet. The Terranova logo and name are subtly and elegantly engraved in the center of the clasp. Five micro-adjustments allow for an optimal fit of the bracelet size for any wrist.

Details
We've added several intriguing details that give the watch a more playful feel. The inscription "Automatic 100m" at the bottom of the dial comes in different colors for each Terranova version. The second hand is painted in the same color as "Automatic," adding contrast to the dominant colors. The crown features a polished finish and is laser-engraved with the Terranova logo.
However, the most captivating detail of the watch is undoubtedly the inscription "Inspired by Brazil" positioned at the six o'clock marker accompanied by the Brazilian flag where the origin of the watch is traditionally indicated, akin to the famous "Swiss Made" designation found on Swiss watches.
The back of the case is enclosed with stainless steel, featuring technical specifications of the watch engraved around the edges with the Terranova logo centrally engraved.
Movement
Powering the Copacabana is the NH35 caliber from Seiko, a movement that needs no introduction. With 24 jewels and a power reserve of 41 hours the NH35 provides a solid foundation for affordable mechanical watches offering enthusiasts a reliable and efficient experience.

Dial
The waves of Copacabana's promenade have been brought to the dial in the form of a texture that takes on different aspects depending on the lighting conditions that light the watch. The waves alternate between an Enamel finish and Matte paint.
Below the twelve o'clock marker the brand name and logo are painted symbolizing the sunset over the sea. Above the six o'clock marker is the watch name – Copacabana – is written in a playful font that harmonizes with the rest of the dial. Below the name are specifications for the automatic movement and water resistance.
The watch features applied hour markers which are finely finished and feature a beautiful blue BGW9 Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescence. Minute markers are painted on the outermost part of the dial. The hour and minute hands are silver baton-shaped (elongated and rectangular) matching the hour markers also with blue BGW9 lume.
At the three o'clock position is the date window framed in silver, adding a touch of refinement to the dial.
Water resistance
The Copacabana watch is water-resistant to 100 meters or 10 bar. This impressive rating is made possible by the screw-down crown. Therefore the watch performs excellently in pools, rivers, lakes, and shallow dives in the sea.

In addition to black version the Copacabana dial will be available in the colors blue, white and a special brazilian green and yellow version.
